Congratulations to Turlock native Tom Brandstater on his selection in the 6th round of the NFL draft by the Denver Broncos. The Broncos traded up to select Tom. May he be the first of many from our hometown this century!
Kaepernick burst onto the scene two seasons ago in the highest scoring game in NCAA history: A 69-67 loss to Boise State. The lanky scrambler rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns in that game. He added 243 yards passing and three more scores through the air. In his first full season as a starter last year, ‘Crazy Legs’ Kaepernick posted 2,849 passing yards, 1,130 rushing yards and 39 touchdowns (17 rushing). He enters his junior season (redshirt) with over 6,747 yards of total offense.
Pitman Football will be sending four athletes to the Under Armour Football Combine this weekend at the Oakland Raiders Training Facility in Oakland, CA.
Pitman's Week zero opponent for 2009, Paradise, wins the 2008 Northern Section Title. Paradise finished 11-1, with their only 2008 loss to the Pride. Next year's season opener on the road is going to be a big one.

155! points total is definitely a record for a PHS 3 game series. Silver Squad also punched in two Touchdowns Wednesday night against Atwater.
Tune in next week for three season finales, and a great varsity matchup with post-season implications.
Final Games: Silver Squad: Host Patterson Wednesday night @ Joe Debely Stadium, 6pm.
Freshmen: Travel to Merced High School's on campus field for a 3pm Sunset beater.
Sophomores: Host Merced Friday @ 5:15, Joe Debely Stadium. Your PHS Sophomore team has already clinched a CCC title outright and will be looking to finish off a perfect 6-0 run vs Merced High and their 2nd place squad.
The Big One: VARSITY: Will have a playoff game atmosphere as PHS/MHS square off for the CCC title and many playoff implications. Winner hosts a playoff game the next week.
The action Friday at Joe Debely's "Turnip Patch" will be exciting as Merced continues to sling mud in the direction of the City of Turlock. (Rightfully so about the field condition)
Get there early Friday night to get a good seat, the Sophomore team can't wait to entertain you in the opening act.
